Model S199M12
is a FITEL 12-Ribbon Mass Fusion Splicer. Use it for quick ribbon-type fiber
splicing in outside plant and long-haul applications. Portable, compact unit
features an insertable battery. Its large 5" low-reflection LCD monitor can be
seen clearly, even under strong sunlight. Because fibers are inspected by two CCD cameras simultaneously, the entire splicing process averages a very fast 30
seconds. Before carrying out real splicing, the embedded diagnosis function will
help the user check the machine's status. The fiber position adjustment button
can help fine tune the fiber position in the v-groove. A white LED lamp can help
set up fiber in dark environments.
Remaining
battery life can be checked on the screen. This wind-proof splicer can withstand
wind up to 33 mph without being affected. With the help of a fan-embedded
heater, fiber reinforcement time can be shortened. Heater clamps can absorb and
adjust fiber tension automatically. The arc check function can help the machine
adjust the arc discharge conditions automatically based on the environmental
condition. This is important for low-loss splicing. S199M12 splicer can store
data for up to a maximum of 250 splices

procedure begins with setup fiber, press "set" and feed fibers. Then inspect,
splice and loss estimation. The final steps are loss display, remove spliced
fiber, heat shrink protection and end.
